“It was a pleasure to engage with Mr. Tufan Erginbilgic, CEO of Rolls-Royce, earlier today. We are excited about Rolls-Royce's enthusiasm to expand its presence in India and collaborate with our innovative and dynamic youth,” PM Modi stated in a post on X.
Rolls-Royce had previously announced that their CEO met PM Modi to explore how the company is evolving to contribute to Viksit Bharat, aiming to expand its GCC to become the largest globally, co-create complex manufacturing solutions, and develop high-value engineering capabilities.
In October, Rolls-Royce expressed pride in participating in industry discussions during UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer's first official visit to India post the signing of the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA).
The company is eager to help reinforce the India-UK economic alliance, in accordance with the India-UK Vision 2035. CEO Erginbilgic was part of the industry delegation accompanying the UK Prime Minister.
Erginbilgic emphasized that the company aims to cultivate India as a core market for Rolls-Royce. 'We have significant ambitions to develop India as a home for Rolls-Royce, leveraging our strong and successful partnership. Our competitive technologies across air, land, and sea applications enable us to establish in-country capabilities and nurture strategic partnerships that will help accelerate India’s journey towards a Viksit Bharat,” he stated.
“We are committed to being a partner in India’s Atmanirbhar journey, fostering growth, promoting self-reliance, innovation, and establishing a global presence in critical industries,” he added.
According to the company, its diverse capabilities in civil aviation, defense, and energy will allow it to expand its footprint and partnerships in India, continuing to power, protect, and connect India for years to come. 'Our expertise aligns with India’s goals for self-reliance in defense, energy independence, and enhanced connectivity, including the establishment of world-class AI infrastructure,' the automaker remarked.
