Arrah (Bihar), April 4 (NationPress) The Prime Minister SVANidhi (PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi) initiative, designed for street vendors in urban settings, has profoundly changed the circumstances of small shop owner Chhote Lal Kesari, who resides in Mahajan Toli, Arrah.
After experiencing setbacks with his betel leaf (Paan) business, Chhote Lal not only broadened his enterprise through the advantages of this program but also took meaningful steps toward securing higher education for his two daughters and son.
In an interview with IANS, Chhote Lal shared that he started his betel leaf shop in 2023, but encountered significant losses. During this difficult phase, he learned about the Prime Minister’s SVANidhi scheme. He applied online through the municipal corporation, and shortly afterward, the loan was deposited into his account. He subsequently launched a breakfast shop, which has turned out to be very lucrative.
Chhote Lal stated: "Through the scheme, I first received a loan of Rs 10,000. Later, I borrowed Rs 20,000 and then Rs 50,000. These funds have enabled me to operate a breakfast shop. My daughters are now receiving a quality education, and my son is also attending school."
Chhote Lal further mentioned that he encountered no extra expenses or corruption during the loan application process. The funding was provided with total transparency. After completing the application at the municipal corporation, the money was promptly transferred to his account. This scheme has greatly enhanced his financial situation, allowing him to provide a better life for his family.
Expressing his appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he remarked: "This initiative has been tremendously helpful for small business owners like us. I am genuinely grateful to Prime Minister Modi for establishing such programs for traders like myself."
Chhote Lal also noted that two of his children, his daughters, are in the 10th and 7th grades, while his son is in the second grade. He added that due to the assistance from the scheme, his aspiration of offering higher education for his daughters is now becoming a reality.
