Police Inspector Suspended for Attempted Sexual Assault on Criminal Case Accused in Samastipur

Patna, Dec 4 (NationPress) An Inspector working at the Patori police station in Samastipur, Bihar, was suspended on Wednesday following serious allegations of sexual assault against a woman linked to a criminal investigation.
Inspector Balal Khan is accused of inviting a woman associated with a case to his private residence, where he reportedly engaged in inappropriate behavior on Tuesday.
It is alleged that he demanded sexual favors from her in exchange for avoiding imprisonment and promised to provide relief in her ongoing criminal case.
The woman managed to secretly record the encounter on her mobile device and later shared the footage on social media, prompting widespread public outrage.
In the aftermath, Inspector Balal Khan has reportedly gone into hiding.
The Superintendent of Police for Samastipur, Ashok Mishra, promptly took notice of the matter and instructed the Patori DSP to carry out a comprehensive investigation.
“Disciplinary measures were implemented based on the investigation results. Inspector Balal Khan, from the Patori police station in Samastipur, Bihar, has been suspended due to allegations of misconduct involving a woman related to a case he was overseeing,” Mishra stated.
“The Inspector summoned the woman to his residence under the guise of discussing her case. Upon arrival, he is said to have misbehaved and locked the room with the intention of committing rape,” Mishra added.
Following this incident, a formal complaint from the victim led to the establishment of a case against Inspector Balal Khan.
The video evidence has been pivotal in validating the victim's allegations.
The district has formed a team to locate Balal Khan's whereabouts.
“Our team is conducting raids at various locations. The Inspector will be apprehended shortly,” Mishra confirmed.
Mishra underscored the gravity of the accusations and asserted that appropriate legal and departmental actions would ensue to ensure justice.
