Bhopal, Feb 18 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday urged residents of the state to monitor the traffic conditions closely before embarking on their journey to the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

After assessing the traffic congestions on various roads caused by the influx of pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh to Prayagraj, Chief Minister Yadav advised citizens to gather information about transportation routes beforehand.

The Chief Minister noted that while the state government is making all necessary preparations for the devotees, it is essential for them to carry vital supplies to avoid any issues if they encounter delays during their travels.

He further recommended that 'if the journey proves to be troublesome, consider postponing it for a few days and proceed only when the roads are more manageable.'

Moreover, he mentioned that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is dedicated to ensuring that all essential services are available for pilgrims heading to Prayagraj for a sacred dip during the Maha Kumbh.

'The collectors of border districts have been directed to remain vigilant and alert to guarantee that pilgrims do not face any difficulties during the Maha Kumbh journey and that their safety is prioritized,' CM Yadav stated.

With thousands of devotees traveling to the Maha Kumbh, severe traffic jams stretching several kilometers have affected roads in Jabalpur, Seoni, Katni, Maihar, Satna, and Rewa districts of Madhya Pradesh.

To address the situation, the state government has dispatched officials to assist pilgrims caught in traffic jams, providing them with food, water, medicine, and milk supplies.

Medical camps and food stalls have been established along NH-27 (from Satna to Chakghat border in Rewa district).

The Maha Kumbh, taking place after a 12-year interval, commenced on January 13 and will run until February 26 at the Triveni Sangam—the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the legendary Saraswati rivers, which are revered by Hindus.

According to official reports, over 50 crore devotees have participated in the holy dip at the Triveni Sangam during the ongoing Maha Kumbh.
