Lucknow, Feb 16 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, on Sunday appealed to all devotees to uphold cleanliness and actively participate in the management of the ongoing Maha Kumbh taking place in Prayagraj.
He emphasized the necessity of utilizing designated parking areas to facilitate a seamless experience for all attendees of the grand Kumbh Mela.
The Chief Minister urged saints, ashrams, and various religious and social bodies to persist in the tradition of bhandara and prasad distribution, ensuring that every pilgrim can partake in these holy offerings.
“I appeal to all the esteemed saints, ashrams, and different religious and social organizations to maintain the sacred practice of distributing food (bhandara) and prasad consistently, allowing all devotees to benefit from it. The responsibility of maintaining cleanliness during the Maha Kumbh falls on each individual. All devotees are encouraged to uphold their own cleanliness and motivate others to do so,” the CM's post on X in Hindi (translated to English) states.
In another post on X, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh expressed: “Dear Devotees, the Maha Kumbh is a magnificent festival of faith, attracting individuals from across the nation and the globe. In such a scenario, everyone's positive collaboration can greatly contribute to the success of this event. All devotees are requested not to park their vehicles on the roads but to utilize the designated parking spaces, ensuring that everyone has easy access to take a holy dip in the sacred Triveni.
CM Yogi Adityanath also expressed sorrow over the unfortunate stampede at New Delhi Railway Station on Saturday night, which resulted in 18 fatalities. Addressing a public rally, he stated, '...An unfortunate incident occurred at New Delhi Railway Station yesterday. I extend my heartfelt condolences to all the bereaved.'
As per official records, by 6 pm on Sunday, over 1.36 crore devotees had taken a holy dip, and to date, 51.47 crore individuals have participated in the Maha Kumbh.
