Mahakumbh Nagar, Jan 27 (NationPress) The magnificent Mahakumbh festival at Prayagraj's Sangam has attracted over 13 crore devotees thus far. Now, arrangements are in full force for the Amrit Snan on Mauni Amavasya, January 29, 2025, when approximately 10 crore pilgrims are anticipated to take a sacred dip at Triveni Sangam on this blessed occasion.
In anticipation of a substantial influx of devotees, the Prayagraj Railway Division has implemented extensive special measures to ensure the seamless arrival and departure of passengers across all city stations.
Approximately 10 crore individuals are expected to converge in Prayagraj for the Amrit Snan during Mauni Amavasya. Estimates suggest that around 1 crore passengers have been arriving daily in the city for the Maha Kumbh since January 25.
To guarantee the safety and orderly movement of such a massive number of devotees, the Prayagraj Railway Division has introduced a special strategy along with specific restrictions. These arrangements will be active a day prior and two days following the Mauni Amavasya bathing festival.
On the festival day, entry to Prayagraj Junction will be allowed from the city side, specifically through platform number-. Exiting will be only from the Civil Lines side, via platform number 6.
Passengers with reserved, pre-booked tickets will have a separate entry from the city-side gate number 5, while unreserved travelers will enter through direction-wise, colour-coded shelters.
These shelters will also provide unreserved ticket counters, ATMs, and mobile ticketing services. A special holding area has been established at Khusro Bagh, accommodating up to 1 lakh individuals.
During the Mauni Amavasya festival, specific arrangements have been made at major railway stations to manage the surge of passengers and ensure smooth travel. At Naini Junction, entry will only be allowed from Station Road, with exit through the goods shed.
Passengers with reserved tickets will have a dedicated entry through Gate Number 2. At Prayagraj Cheoki Station, entry will be allowed only from COD Road, which connects to the Prayagraj-Mirzapur highway, with exit through G.E.C. Naini Road.
Passengers with reserved tickets will use Gate Number 2 for entry. At Subedarganj Station, entry will be from Jhalwa-Kaushambi Road, and exit towards GT Road. Reserved passengers will enter through Gate Number 3.
