New Delhi, Aug 12 (NationPress) Congress Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has vehemently criticized the Central government for its silence regarding Israel's military actions in Palestine, declaring that such inaction is tantamount to complicity.

On her social media platform X, she expressed, "The Israeli state is committing genocide. It has taken the lives of over 60,000 individuals, among them 18,430 children. It has starved hundreds to death, including many children, and is threatening to starve millions more."

"By enabling these crimes through silence and inaction, the government is committing a crime in itself. It is shameful that the Indian Government remains mute while Israel wreaks havoc on the people of Palestine," she stated, criticizing the Centre.

She also condemned the deaths of five Al Jazeera journalists in Gaza, labeling it as another heinous crime in Palestine.

"The cold-blooded murder of five Al Jazeera journalists represents yet another heinous crime on Palestinian soil. The immeasurable courage of those who stand for the truth will never be extinguished by the violence and hatred from the Israeli state," she remarked.

"In a world where much of the media is subservient to power and commerce, these courageous individuals remind us of what true journalism entails. May they rest in peace," she added.

Israel confirmed the killing of the journalists, alleging that one of them, Anas al-Sharif, was the leader of a Hamas terror cell involved in launching rocket attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF troops.

The Israeli military claimed to possess intelligence and documents from Gaza, including rosters, training lists, and salary records, that confirm Al-Sharif's alleged ties to Hamas.

It asserted that in October, it had released materials seized from Gaza that "unequivocally" demonstrated his affiliation with Hamas and insisted that a press badge "does not shield terrorism."

According to the Israeli statement, Al-Sharif was killed alongside four colleagues— Ibrahim Zaher, Moamen Aliwa, and Mohammed Noufal. The military maintained that the evidence "once again confirms" his terrorist activities, which Al Jazeera attempted to disavow.
