New Delhi, March 27 (NationPress) Robert Vadra expressed on Thursday that the bombardment of hospitals and civilian zones in Palestine represents a serious “injustice” – a position that resonates with his wife and Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi’s previous act of solidarity for the nation.

In a conversation with IANS regarding the bombings in Palestine, Vadra stated, “Clearly, what is occurring is a form of injustice.”

“Individuals on both sides are experiencing hardship, and political agendas significantly contribute to the intensification of the conflict... The bombing of hospitals and the tragic loss of innocent lives, including women and children, is profoundly wrong,” he remarked, expressing concern over the involvement of unrelated nations in the matter.

Vadra’s empathy for the Palestinian populace is in line with his wife and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi, who stirred discussions in Parliament by showcasing a handbag that prominently displayed the word ‘Palestine’.

Her choice to carry the bag last December was interpreted as a declaration of solidarity for Palestine on humanitarian grounds.

Nonetheless, BJP members criticized her action as a form of appeasement politics.

BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari commented, “She aims to demonstrate that Congress engages in politics of appeasement. They overlook the plight of victims in Bangladesh, focusing solely on Palestine.”

He added that she tweets about Gaza over 20 times yet remains silent on the issues faced by Bangladeshi Hindus, labeling the Congress party as one that favors Muslim appeasement.

Responding to this situation, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Gulam Ali Khatana remarked, “People undertake such actions for publicity. When they face rejection from the populace, they resort to such measures.”

In defense of Priyanka Gandhi’s actions, Congress MP Rajeev Shukla stated, “Children are being killed in Palestine, hospitals are being bombed, and she is protesting this on humanitarian grounds.”

AIMIM Spokesperson Waris Pathan also commented on Priyanka Gandhi’s 'Palestine' bag, saying, “Mahatma Gandhi and Atal Bihari Vajpayee also supported Palestine. We have always shown our support for Palestine.”
