Priyanka Gandhi's Handbag Featuring 'Palestine' Captivates Parliament

New Delhi, Dec 16 (NationPress) Congress lawmaker Priyanka Gandhi arrived at Parliament on Monday displaying a 'Palestine' inscription on her handbag, which quickly drew the gaze of fellow lawmakers and television cameras.
This act is perceived as a gesture by the Congress MP to show her support for Palestinians during the ongoing military conflict with Israel.
Priyanka has been outspoken regarding the Israel-Gaza conflict in recent times, labeling Israeli actions in Gaza as 'barbaric and inhuman.'
The image of Priyanka Gandhi grinning while showcasing her handbag bearing the word 'Palestine' circulated on social media, sparking a flurry of responses from netizens, many of whom expressed astonishment, while others questioned her endorsement of the Palestinian cause.
Her symbolic backing for Palestine follows her meeting with the Palestinian embassy's charge d'affaires Abed Elrazeg Abu Jazer just a day prior. The Palestinian diplomat visited Priyanka at her home to congratulate her on her Lok Sabha victory from Wayanad and also proposed a leadership role for India in facilitating a ceasefire in the Israel-Gaza conflict.
Notably, the Congress General Secretary has been vocal in denouncing Israel's actions in Gaza, describing its military offensive as a breach of international law.
“It is the moral responsibility of every right-thinking individual, including all those Israeli citizens who do not believe in hatred and violence, and every government in the world to condemn the Israeli government's genocidal actions and force them to stop,” Gandhi stated on X in July.
In October of the previous year, Hamas operatives from Gaza executed a significant terror attack in Israeli territory, resulting in the deaths of over one thousand Israelis and the abduction of many others. Following this attack, Israeli forces initiated a large-scale military operation targeting Hamas within Palestine.
India had strongly denounced the terror attack on October 7, 2023, in Israel and called for the immediate release of Israeli civilians held by Hamas.
