Nagpur, Nov 15 (NationPress) Congress Legislature Party leader Vijay Wadettiwar has urged Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to initiate criminal proceedings against all officials and parties implicated in the embezzlement of crores of rupees related to the Pune land scam.

In his correspondence, he asserted that illegal dealings concerning government land valued in crores in Pune Mundhwa were executed with the complicity of certain private individuals and government officials, indicating a coordinated effort to illegally seize government land.

This appeal arises amidst ongoing controversy surrounding Deputy Chief Minister and NCP chief Ajit Pawar's son Parth Pawar and Amedea Enterprises LLP linked to the land scam, along with the recent decision to annul the sales deed.

Wadettiwar highlighted serious issues in the case, noting that on October 24, 1973, the land was leased to the Botanical Survey Department for a period of 15 years at an annual rent of Rs 1. An extension was subsequently granted until March 31, 2038. However, on December 30, 2024, Sheetal Tejwani deposited merely Rs. 11,000 with interest labeled as 'land holding value' in the District Collector's office, despite the absence of any official government resolution or directives from the Tehsildar or District Collector.

“Officials accepted this payment without adhering to any legal processes. The sale deed was registered on May 20, 2025, yet it fails to reference proof of land ownership, market value assessment, or stamp duty. The registration was conducted based solely on outdated 7/12 extracts, despite the existence of City Survey property records,” said Wadettiwar.

He alleged a conspiracy between the Registration Officer and Tehsildar to illegally transfer government land to a private entity. On June 9, 2025, Tehsildar Suryakant Yewale issued orders to vacate the premises for the Botanical Survey Department based on Amedia Company's request, without conducting any investigation. A case has already been filed against this official in the Bopodi matter.

“The Tehsildar favored the beneficiaries to unlawfully acquire government land. This is in violation of a 2021 government order concerning the transfer of vatan lands, where land holding value was improperly accepted without prior governmental consent. The registration of illegal documents was performed without securing an eligibility certificate, breaching stamp duty and valuation regulations, and granting concessions solely on the basis of a Letter of Intent,” Wadettiwar alleged.

He further accused beneficiary Sheetal Tejwani and Amedia Company of attempting to illegally take over government land utilizing fraudulent documents and incorrect identifications.

According to Wadettiwar, some officials involved in the government-appointed committee investigating this issue are themselves implicated in the previous illegal transactions, which undermines the possibility of a fair investigation, thus necessitating the committee's dissolution.

“This represents not just administrative misconduct but a calculated misappropriation of government property worth crores of rupees. Hence, all illegal transactions, directives, and sales deeds related to the Mundhwa case should be promptly annulled,” he insisted.

Wadettiwar also reached out to Revenue Minister Bawankule and the Maharashtra Chief Secretary calling for the immediate suspension of corrupt officials involved in this case and the initiation of a departmental inquiry against them.

The land implicated in these malpractices should be returned to government oversight.

“An independent and thorough investigation is crucial to uncover what other government and private lands have been illegally appropriated by these officials,” he concluded.
