Did Punjab AAP MLA Expose 'Operation Lotus' and Closed-Door Offer from Haryana CM?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Chandigarh, Feb 13 (NationPress) Punjab's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislator Narinder Kaur Bharaj has made serious allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming they attempted to entice her with a party ticket and promises under the guise of 'Operation Lotus'.
She revealed that Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini summoned her for a private meeting.
"The BJP is executing 'Operation Lotus' across the nation to destabilize democratically elected governments. Recently, Haryana's CM Saini reached out to me, offering a BJP ticket from Sangrur and assuring that all my requests would be met. He also proposed a private meeting," Kaur, representing Sangrur, informed the press.
She further expressed, "I became a member of AAP in 2014 at just 19, motivated by the vision of Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann. I am a dedicated party worker who has tirelessly campaigned for the party. Only AAP has empowered a small farmer's daughter to become an MLA at 27."
In a pointed remark directed at the Haryana Chief Minister, Kaur stated, "With the way Saini sahib is currently roaming around Punjab, it appears the BJP has sent him here on loan. I advise him to focus on his own state instead of meddling in Punjab. The people of Punjab, along with AAP MLAs, are steadfastly united behind Bhagwant Singh Mann and Arvind Kejriwal.
She affirmed the unity within AAP, saying, "Every member, MLA, and Minister of the Aam Aadmi Party stands together. Our goal in politics is to reform the system and enhance health and education services, not to engage in horse-trading. We are fully ready for the 2027 elections, and the BJP's cheap tricks will not deter us."
Meanwhile, AAP State Media In-charge Baltej Pannu commented, "The BJP is once again futilely attempting to undermine democracy in Punjab through 'Operation Lotus'. This isn’t the first instance where they’ve tried to buy AAP MLAs; they seem to forget that Punjabis value their integrity."
Pannu added, "Saini sahib should maintain his 'Haryana Model' where citizens struggle with high electricity costs. In Punjab, we follow the principles of Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann, which include provisions like free electricity, a stark contrast to what your failing Haryana Model offers."
He concluded, "As we approach the completion of four years of the Punjab government, not a single MLA has been swayed by the BJP's flashy offers worth crores. AAP MLAs come from humble backgrounds, whom traditional parties used to derisively label as 'material' or 'band-baaja walas'.
