The individual taken into custody has been recognized as Sukhdev Singh, also known as Sukhi, hailing from Mohan Ke Uttar village in the Ferozepur district.

In addition to the heroin, authorities have confiscated his motorcycle, which he was using at the time.

According to DGP Yadav, initial investigations indicated that the suspect was in direct communication with a smuggler based in Pakistan, who was utilizing drones to transport drug shipments across the border.

Ongoing inquiries are being conducted regarding this case, he added.

Outlining the operation, Assistant Inspector General of Counter Intelligence, Gursewak Singh Brar, mentioned that based on credible intelligence concerning Sukhdev Sukhi's involvement in smuggling, police units from CI Ferozepur executed an intelligence-driven operation in the vicinity of Lakho Ke Behram village in Ferozepur and captured him along with seven packets of heroin, each weighing 500 grams, stored in a plastic bag.

He noted that the suspect was on his way to deliver the drug shipment when he was intercepted by the police.

Authorities are working diligently to expose the entire network of suppliers, dealers, and customers, in addition to identifying the recipient of the drug shipment meant for Sukhdev Sukhi, with expectations of further confiscations and arrests in the near future.
