Will Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Miss the Mega 'Anti-Drug' Rally in Moga?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Chandigarh, Feb 16 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, might not be able to attend the upcoming ‘anti-drug’ mega rally in Moga due to ongoing treatment at a private hospital in Mohali, where he was admitted after feeling exhausted on Sunday evening.
This significant “anti-drug rally” is part of the government's ‘Yuddh Nasheyan Viruddh’ initiative and is expected to feature the AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal along with Mann’s Cabinet members.
According to a statement from Fortis Hospital on Sunday, “Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited Fortis Hospital Mohali on 15th February 2026 for a routine medical evaluation. He underwent a thorough clinical assessment and standard diagnostic tests. All vital parameters are stable and within normal limits. Currently, he is experiencing exhaustion and has been admitted for observation and supportive care. His condition is stable and he is under the supervision of a multidisciplinary medical team.”
The Chief Minister had to be rushed to Fortis Hospital from Dhuri town when he experienced a spike in blood pressure.
On Sunday, both Kejriwal and CM Mann offered prayers at the sacred Rankeshwar Mahadev Temple and performed 'puja' at the historic Siddh Peeth in Dhuri.
While greeting festival attendees, the AAP chief described Mahashivratri as a cultural celebration deeply embedded in India's ancient spiritual heritage and prayed for Lord Bholenath’s blessings to be upon every citizen.
CM Mann reiterated the government's dedication to maintaining and promoting the state’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage for generations to come.
He emphasized the importance of commemorating events such as the Shaheedi Diwas of Guru Teg Bahadur and the Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass, as the government continues to honor its illustrious legacy with pride and devotion.
Previously, CM Mann was discharged from Fortis Hospital in September 2025 after being hospitalized due to exhaustion and a low heart rate, which also led to the cancellation of his visit to flood-affected regions in Punjab. In September 2024, he was hospitalized due to increasing pressure in his pulmonary artery, which caused strain on his heart and irregular blood pressure.
