Chandigarh, Dec 23 (NationPress) The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Punjab Police, in collaboration with the Border Security Force (BSF), has successfully recovered 12 kg of heroin near Daleke village in the Lopoke area of Amritsar district, as stated by Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav during a briefing on Tuesday.
The DGP revealed that during routine patrols of identified vulnerable zones, they received intelligence regarding a drone detected in the agricultural fields surrounding Daleke.
Reacting swiftly to this information, joint teams from the ANTF, under the direction of Superintendent of Police Gurpreet Singh, executed a meticulous search of the suspected area, which resulted in the recovery of a heroin consignment from the fields.
The total weight of the illicit substance, including its packaging, was recorded at 12.050 kg.
Providing further insights, Superintendent Gurpreet Singh mentioned that a preliminary investigation is ongoing to identify connections in this case through technical evidence and human intelligence.

Earlier this month, the BSF had seized over 6.6 kg of heroin, 429 grams of opium, and a DJI Air-3 drone carrying parts of a pistol.
Following suspected aerial movements, BSF personnel conducted thorough searches near Daoke village in Amritsar, which led to the recovery of two large heroin packets weighing 6.641 kg, along with illuminating sticks and metal loops.
In another precise operation near Mahawa village, they seized an opium packet.
Moreover, a joint operation with Punjab Police in Tarn Taran resulted in the successful recovery of a drone along with pistol components.
