Bhopal, April 10 (NationPress) A 32-year-old woman named Jyoti has welcomed four newborns at the Kailashnath Katju Women's Hospital, a government facility in Bhopal. The delivery took place during her seventh month of pregnancy, resulting in the premature birth of two boys and two girls.

This event marks a remarkable first for the Kailashnath Katju Women's Hospital, according to a senior medical professional.

The hospital management reported that this unique occurrence has left both the medical team and the local populace in awe.

“While a woman had delivered triplets last year at this facility, this case is deemed even more intricate and momentous. The newborns' weights range from 800 grams to 1 kilogram, significantly lower than the typical weight of 3 kg in standard deliveries,” stated Smita Saxena, the Superintendent of the Hospital, in a conversation with IANS.

Currently, the infants are being cared for in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) due to their reduced birth weight and the complications associated with their early delivery. “One of them is in critical condition but is under close watch,” the doctor added.

The delivery was performed with meticulous medical oversight, and the team of healthcare professionals is diligently monitoring the health status of the infants.

Despite the risks that accompany such cases, the medical staff remains hopeful for the recovery and health of the newborns in the days ahead.

Healthcare providers have stressed the significance of specialized care to promote their development and stability.

The medical community holds a positive outlook as they persist in their endeavors to nurture and stabilize the quartet of newborns.

This state-operated hospital bears the name of Kailashnath Katju, who held positions as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, the Union Home Minister, and the Union Defence Minister.

Earlier in 2023, another woman aged 30 delivered quadruplets at Sultania Hospital, where two of the infants were girls.
