The event, organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, will take place at Vigyan Bhawan and is themed “Viksit Bharat: Citizen-Centric Governance and Development at the Last Mile,” according to an official announcement.

Following the inaugural session, a panel discussion titled ‘Role and Effectiveness of Civil Services - An External Perspective’ will convene, comprising distinguished figures from government, industry, and policy institutions aimed at discussing ways to enhance accountability, innovation, and service delivery within governance.
Annually, Civil Services Day is observed as a moment for civil servants all over India to reaffirm their dedication to serving citizens and to renew their commitment to excellence in public service.
Historically, on this day in 1947, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel addressed the probationers of the All India Administrative Service, famously describing civil servants as the steel frame of India.
The sessions at the event will bring together senior officials, experts, and stakeholders for comprehensive discussions and the sharing of best practices to fortify citizen-centric governance and enhance last-mile service delivery.
Additionally, a session focused on ‘Sustainable Livelihood through PM Vishwakarma’ will be led by Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Jitan Ram Manjhi, while another on ‘Addressing Non-Communicable Diseases in India: From Preventive to Care’ will be chaired by Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda, as stated.
