New Delhi, Feb 1 (NationPress) Congress MP Rahul Gandhi criticized the Central Government regarding the Union Budget 2025, describing it as a temporary fix for serious issues. He emphasized that in the face of global economic instability, resolving India’s financial challenges necessitated a fundamental change; however, he believes the current administration is devoid of innovative solutions.

Rahul Gandhi conveyed his discontent with the government's strategy in a post on X.

The Congress party previously attacked the Union Budget unveiled by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday.

The historic party asserted that the Budget overlooked critical economic problems such as stagnant real wages, insufficient growth in mass consumption, low rates of private investment, and a convoluted Goods and Services Tax (GST) framework.

The Congress party also charged that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi provided a windfall to Bihar, which is under the governance of NDA ally Nitish Kumar, while shamefully neglecting Andhra Pradesh, another NDA ally.

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh reiterated similar sentiments, mentioning: The economy is grappling with four intertwined crises -- stagnant real wages, lack of buoyancy in mass consumption, sluggish private investment rates, and a complicated GST system.

The Budget fails to tackle these issues. The only relief has been for income taxpayers. The actual effect this will have on the economy is yet to be determined.

Ramesh further criticized Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's assertion during her address that the Budget centered around four drivers of development: agriculture, MSMEs, investments, and exports.

According to Ramesh, the Budget was entirely off track, stating: The Finance Minister mentioned four drivers: Agriculture, MSMEs, Investment, and Exports. Such a multitude of drivers has left the Budget completely derailed.
