Ranchi, June 10 (NationPress) The Jharkhand High Court has granted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi additional time to present himself before a Chaibasa court regarding a defamation case. He is now expected to appear in person at the MP-MLA Court in Chaibasa on August 6, changing from the previously set date of June 26 due to a non-bailable warrant (NBW) that had been issued against him.
Recently, Rahul Gandhi approached the Jharkhand High Court to request the cancellation of the NBW and to seek exemption from attending in person for the case.
During the proceedings, the court inquired about Gandhi’s legal representative regarding his frequent absences, highlighting that the Chaibasa court had previously issued a summons that was disregarded, which led to the NBW being issued in February 2024.
