Mysuru, Dec 22 (NationPress) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated on Monday that Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, must take the lead in addressing the leadership dilemma in the state.
Speaking to journalists in his hometown, Mysuru, Siddaramaiah remarked, "We are dedicated to supporting any decision made by Rahul Gandhi."
He expressed frustration regarding the media's focus on the possibility of a leadership shift, stating, "Why is there a necessity to pose so many inquiries? I've already addressed this in the Legislative Assembly; there’s no need to revisit it."
Recently, Siddaramaiah confirmed in the Assembly that he intends to serve out his entire term.
When asked about former minister and Congress MLA K.N. Rajanna's meeting with Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar last week, he responded, "D.K. Shivakumar is the party president. What’s inappropriate about meeting the party president?"
Criticizing the Congress party, Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly, R. Ashoka, commented on Monday, "On one hand, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah insists he will remain as CM as long as the party high command desires, while Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar claims an agreement has already been established with the high command.
Earlier, CM Siddaramaiah's son, Congress MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah, mentioned that the high command had rejected Deputy CM Shivakumar's request, affirming that his father would serve as CM for the full term.
CM Siddaramaiah later reiterated in the Assembly that he would complete his full term as CM.
The BJP has mocked the Congress high command and Rahul Gandhi, suggesting they lack the ability to resolve this issue.
As Deputy CM Shivakumar plans a visit to Delhi this week, activities within the Congress camp are expected to intensify.
In the meantime, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is anticipated to receive an invitation to the Congress Working Committee meeting scheduled for Saturday.
