Jaipur, April 20 (NationPress) The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) apprehended a government official in Dausa district on Monday for purportedly accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000. The suspect, Aditya Sharma, a laboratory assistant at the Government Senior Secondary School in Baswa, was on temporary assignment at the SDM office in Bandikui when he was caught in the act of accepting the bribe, allegedly at the behest of Sub-Divisional Magistrate Ramsingh Rajawat.

As per Govind Gupta, the Director General of Police (ACB), the bureau acted upon a complaint received via its helpline (1064).

The complaint indicated that a bribe of Rs 30,000 was solicited for issuing a stay order on a civil matter pending in the SDM court in Bandikui. Additionally, the complaint asserted that Sharma was mediating on behalf of the SDM and was pressuring the complainant for payment.

Verification was conducted by the ACB on April 17, confirming the demand for Rs 15,000. Following this, a trap operation was arranged by the ACB outpost (Alwar-I). Under the guidance of Deputy Inspector General of Police Bhuvan Bhushan and led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Shabbir Khan, the team arrested Sharma while he was accepting the bribe.

This operation was overseen by Additional Director General of Police Smita Srivastava and Inspector General of Police S. Parimala. Officials confirmed that a case will be filed under the Prevention of Corruption Act, with further inquiries ongoing to explore the involvement of additional parties.

Earlier, on April 16, the ACB's Sawai Madhopur unit also executed a trap operation, leading to the arrest of Sub-Divisional Officer Kajal Meena of Nadoti subdivision, who was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 60,000 from a complainant.

The bribe was reportedly funneled through her reader, Dinesh Kumar Saini, and senior assistant Praveen Dhakad, in exchange for issuing the final decree regarding the partition of the complainant’s land.

According to Govind Gupta, the ACB outpost in Sawai Madhopur received a complaint alleging that Kajal Meena was demanding a bribe of Rs 50,000 for the issuance of the final decree.

The complainant revealed that the original demand was Rs 1,00,000, which was subsequently negotiated down to Rs 50,000.

On April 16, a confidential verification was carried out, during which the reader requested Rs 50,000 on behalf of the SDO and an additional Rs 10,000 for himself, totaling Rs 60,000. Later that day, the complainant was called to the SDO office at Nadoti to deliver the bribe. The reader accepted the money and handed it over to senior assistant Praveen Dhakad.

During the operation, Dinesh Saini acknowledged receiving the bribe on behalf of Kajal Meena. A recorded phone conversation between the reader and Meena further validated her approval of this transaction.

Consequently, Praveen Dhakad was summoned to the office with the bribe money, arriving with a bag containing the cash.

The ACB team seized Rs 60,000 as the bribe, along with an additional Rs 4,00,000 in questionable cash from the same bag. Kajal Meena, Dinesh Saini, and Praveen Dhakad were apprehended at the scene. Further investigations regarding the case are ongoing.
