Why is Rajasthan BJP MLA Concerned About 'Love Jihad' in Mathura?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Jaipur, Feb 2 (NationPress) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Balmukund Acharya from the Hawa Mahal Assembly constituency in Jaipur has once again captured attention with his assertive approach to a troubling case involving a Hindu girl from Ajmer, who was reportedly taken to Mathura in Uttar Pradesh under what he referred to as a 'love jihad' scheme.
Returning to Jaipur from Bhilwara on Sunday, Acharya received alarming news from Ajmer residents, alleging that their daughter had been seduced by a man from another community and was facing threats.
Shaken by the report, the BJP MLA quickly reached out to police officials in both Ajmer and Mathura while still en route.
Acharya later released a video on social media detailing his phone calls, urging police to act swiftly to secure the girl's safe return.
Labeling the event as more than just a crime, Acharya characterized it as a 'well-orchestrated conspiracy' and accused such incidents of stemming from a 'jihadi mentality.'
He asserted that Sanatani daughters were being purposefully targeted and emphasized the necessity for stringent measures to prevent such occurrences.
In a post on X, Acharya said that this was not an isolated event and noted that similar reports were surfacing frequently.
He highlighted that the protection of daughters is a primary concern for both him and the BJP government in Rajasthan.
Furthermore, he advocated for police protection for the victim's family and demanded harsh penalties for the perpetrators.
'These jihadists will not escape,' he stated.
In a message on his official X account, Acharya disclosed, 'While returning from Bhilwara to Jaipur, I was alerted to a grave case from Ajmer. A person named Shabir Khan allegedly enticed a Hindu girl into a 'love jihad' conspiracy, transporting her from Ajmer to Mathura and threatening her family with death.'
'Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, I immediately contacted the necessary police authorities in Ajmer and Mathura (Uttar Pradesh). Clear directives were issued to ensure the girl's safe recovery and return to her family, along with sufficient security for her relatives. Those involved in such 'anti-religious' and 'anti-national' actions will face consequences. This is not an isolated incident; numerous similar cases have come to light, which is why the safety of our daughters is our utmost concern.'
Acharya underscored the importance of liberating society from this jihadist mindset, allowing our daughters to thrive without fear.
'Our unwavering commitment is to uphold the law, the constitutional order, and Sanatan values,' he concluded his social media message with a chant of 'Jai Shri Ram.'
'The girl must be safely recovered at any cost, and actions should be taken that set a precedent,' he added.
In response to Acharya's involvement, the Rajasthan Police established a special unit and dispatched it to Mathura.
Mathura Police senior officials confirmed that the girl's whereabouts had been identified, and efforts were underway to rescue her.
The Ajmer Police have been instructed to ensure the safety of the victim's family, Acharya stated.
He reiterated that protecting the Constitution, law and order, and Sanatan values remains his primary obligation.
He also urged society to be vigilant and to instill proper values in children to prevent such incidents.
