Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Jaipur, March 26 (NationPress) An all-party gathering concerning the LPG scenario is scheduled to take place at the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) today at 4 P.M. This meeting will be presided over by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, underscoring the government’s commitment to ensuring a consistent supply of cooking gas throughout the state.
According to officials from the CMO, "The all-party meeting will convene at the CMO with the Chief Minister in the chair at 4 P.M. The Rajasthan CM is dedicated to guaranteeing the seamless provision of LPG, and discussions will center on its supply issues."
In a related development, the Opposition called for this all-party meeting on Wednesday, emphasizing the urgent need to address the LPG crisis in the state.
Leader of the Opposition, Tikaram Jully, expressed significant concern over the ongoing energy and fuel crisis in Rajasthan, stating that the residents are in dire need of gas. He highlighted that the absence of these essential services has severely impacted the daily lives of ordinary citizens.
Jully questioned the timing of the Chief Minister's decision not to convene an all-party meeting sooner, suggesting that such collaboration could have led to a joint resolution of the LPG crisis.
Earlier, on Wednesday, State Food and Civil Supplies Minister, Sumit Godara, led a high-level review meeting via video conferencing with departmental officials and representatives from oil and gas marketing firms.
Godara assured the public that the state government is actively working to provide maximum relief amidst the prevailing global conditions.
He reiterated that there is no shortage of domestic cooking gas in Rajasthan, with sufficient stock available and LPG cylinders being delivered within three to four days after booking.
The minister urged the public not to succumb to rumors, clarifying that international developments have not affected the LPG supply in the state. He acknowledged that a temporary increase in online bookings had briefly strained the servers, but assured that the system has now stabilized and bookings have returned to normal.
Godara emphasized the necessity of strict enforcement to prevent malpractices in distribution and mandated that all LPG cylinder deliveries must include OTP verification and proper logging, as such irregularities can lead to diversion and negatively impact legitimate consumers.
Additionally, he instructed that delivery personnel must carry and display identification during distributions. To provide long-term solutions, Godara advocated for prioritizing the expansion of PNG (Piped Natural Gas) connections in regions with existing pipeline infrastructure.
He also mentioned that state and district-level monitoring committees are actively working to combat black marketing, diversion, and illegal storage of LPG cylinders. Most gas agencies have already undergone inspections, and he ordered that the remaining agencies be inspected within 24 hours.
Key political figures expected to attend the all-party meeting chaired by CM Sharma include Joga Ram Patel, Sumit Godara, Jogeshwar Garg, Shrichand Kriplani, Tikaram Jully, Ramkesh Meena, Rajendra Pareek, Jiva Ram Chaudhary, Ashok Kothari, Manoj Nyangli, Subhash Garg, and Thawar Chand, coming together to discuss critical state issues.
