LoP Jully Urges Rajasthan CM to Host All-Party Meeting Amid Gas Crisis
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Jaipur, March 25 (NationPress) Tikaram Jully, the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, has vehemently condemned the BJP government and the Chief Minister regarding the ongoing crisis, including the downfall of the RGHS scheme and the escalating LPG shortage in the state.
He asserted that while Rajasthan grapples with a significant crisis, the Chief Minister seems to operate as a "non-resident Chief Minister," neglecting the pressing concerns of the public.
Highlighting the alarming LPG crisis, Jully noted that the citizens of the state are enduring severe hardships due to gas shortages.
The absence of these vital resources has rendered daily life exceedingly challenging for the average individual.
He questioned why the Chief Minister has not called for an all-party meeting to foster consensus and collaboratively tackle the crisis during such a crucial time.
In a sharp critique of the Chief Minister's approach, Jully stated that while Rajasthan’s healthcare system and administrative framework are under immense pressure, the Chief Minister appears to have "one foot in Delhi."
He emphasized that decisive leadership is required, including explicit instructions to the Health Minister to urgently address the ongoing crisis.
Jully argued that under the BJP administration, the quality of healthcare services and the RGHS scheme has deteriorated beyond the brink of collapse, plunging into chaos.
He claimed that private hospitals had warned as early as last year of the potential suspension of services if outstanding payments were not resolved, yet the government remained apathetic. Currently, crores of rupees owed to private hospitals and pharmacies across the state remain unpaid.
He highlighted that the most affected are elderly pensioners, who are now facing difficulties in accessing treatment. Cashless medicine facilities in OPDs have been revoked, forcing patients to navigate various obstacles for basic healthcare. Addressing comparisons to the previous Congress government, the Leader of the Opposition noted that critics should closely examine the realities in hospitals.
He alleged that the healthcare infrastructure established during the Congress era has been undermined by the current government.
“The state is suffering, while the Chief Minister is preoccupied with trips to Delhi,” he stated, adding that the public can no longer be misled by promotional claims.
