Jaipur, July 4 (NationPress) Rajasthan's Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma participated in a mass wedding event at Rajya Mahila Sadan, Sanganer, where the matrimonial union of 11 women was celebrated. This initiative was organized to foster social inclusion and women empowerment.
During his address, the Chief Minister highlighted that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, both central and state administrations are focused on the comprehensive development of women.
He pointed out that mass marriage programs not only aid the underprivileged but also guide society in a positive direction. This event exemplifies the state government's steadfast commitment to empowering women and enhancing the lives of economically and socially marginalized families.
Sharma noted that the mass marriage conference symbolizes a new beginning for numerous daughters, providing them with respect, love, and a pathway to independence.
He highlighted the transparency in the selection process, revealing that following the previous marriage event, over 1,900 applications were received from young men wishing to wed daughters residing at the Mahila Sadan.
Out of these applicants, 11 suitable grooms were chosen, taking into account the preferences and dignity of the daughters.
The Chief Minister emphasized that this approach demonstrates the government's respect for the independence and voices of women. He shared that more than Rs 71 crore has been allocated as financial aid to over 13,000 daughters in the last 18 months under the Chief Minister Kanyadaan Yojana, providing assistance ranging from Rs 21,000 to Rs 51,000.
He also mentioned that initiatives like the Lado Protsahan Yojana are significantly impacting the encouragement of daughters' births while ensuring their access to healthcare, education, and empowerment.
On this memorable occasion, the Chief Minister extended his blessings to all 11 newlyweds, presenting them with cheques of Rs 21,000 each under the Kanyadaan Yojana.
He reiterated the government's resolve to assist every daughter in Rajasthan in becoming self-sufficient and establishing a strong societal identity.
The event was attended by Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Avinash Gehlot, Director of the Department Ashish Modi, Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Greater Gaurav Saini, among other officials.
Many local citizens and social workers joined, making the event a significant celebration of unity, empowerment, and community spirit.
