Jaipur, August 18 (NationPress) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has instructed the Youth Affairs and Sports Department to guarantee the prompt and effective execution of financial commitments aimed at enhancing sports facilities, alongside crafting a strategic action plan for the triumphant hosting of the Khelo India University Games – 2025.
During a review meeting held at the Chief Minister’s Office on Monday, Sharma affirmed the state government's dedication to delivering top-notch sports amenities, from rural areas to urban centers, to inspire youth and refine their skills.
He stressed that the forthcoming Khelo India University Games – 2025 will foster a robust sporting culture in Rajasthan and issued essential directives for the ongoing enhancement of sports infrastructure.
The Chief Minister expressed pride in Rajasthan being the host for this esteemed event, which will see participation from numerous skilled athletes nationwide. He mandated that optimal arrangements be made for accommodation, transportation, catering, and other vital services.
Departments such as Local Bodies, Medical & Health, and Public Works are required to collaborate closely to ensure seamless operations.
Furthermore, he proposed the exploration of hosting events not only in Jaipur but also in various other districts. Sharma urged officials to maintain high standards in preparations and to integrate the best ideas into the event strategy.
He additionally commanded the development of a mobile application to facilitate the effective management of the Games and to select venues that can offer world-class services to athletes.
The Chief Minister placed significant emphasis on modernizing and upgrading sports facilities. He ordered that a supportive sports environment be established at the Panchayat level, alongside organizing competitions at sub-division and district levels.
Recognizing the necessity for sufficient manpower, he instructed immediate hiring to fill vacant positions within the Youth Affairs and Sports Department, including roles for sports trainers. Sharma also mentioned that under the “One District, One Sport” initiative, each district will promote one designated sport.
District Collectors have been tasked with submitting reports on available resources and needs, after which infrastructure and facilities will be developed accordingly. He also instructed the appointment of sports specialists as coordinators in each district to identify and cultivate local talent. The meeting was attended by Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore, Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, and senior departmental officials.
