Jaipur, Jan 20 (NationPress) Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani faced a sudden health crisis on Monday during a conference in Patna.

After expressing discomfort from chest pain, he was promptly transported to the Indira Gandhi Institute of Cardiology at the Patna Medical College and Hospital, where he underwent angiography. Medical professionals have reported that his condition is currently stable.

Devnani was in Patna to take part in the two-day 85th All India Presiding Officers’ Conference.

His health took an unforeseen downturn during the event.

Despite assurances from his personal assistant that he is recovering well, there has been no confirmation regarding a heart attack.

As per the attending physicians at PMCH, Devnani was admitted to the Indira Gandhi Institute of Cardiology, and his health status remains stable.

In addition, a contingent of heart specialists is being sent from Jaipur to Patna to facilitate Devnani's treatment.

They are traveling via a dedicated aircraft, following updates relayed by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar, who are vigilantly observing the situation.

The Health Minister expressed astonishment at the occurrence, highlighting that Devnani has maintained a health-conscious lifestyle, including a daily 5-kilometer walk, and often encourages others to adopt similar habits.

He speculated that stress may have contributed to the incident, given Devnani's generally sound health.

He commented, “Vasudev Devnani has consistently prioritized his health. He walks 5 km each day and frequently advises us to stay active. He had no known health issues; it could be related to anxiety. I am baffled that someone so alert can experience heart complications.”

Earlier on Monday, the 85th All India Presiding Officers’ Conference was inaugurated by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in Patna.

This conference sees the participation of Presiding Officers from 56 legislatures across the nation.

This is the third occasion that Bihar is hosting the conference, the last being in 1982, a span of 43 years.
