UP Minister Anil Rajbhar Suggests Broader Conspiracy Behind Noida Worker Protests
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Varanasi, April 14 (NationPress) The Uttar Pradesh Minister for Labour and Employment Coordination, Anil Rajbhar, suggested on Tuesday that a possible "broader conspiracy" could be behind the recent unrest among workers in Noida. He emphasized the commitment of the state government to support laborers and mentioned that measures are already in place to address their issues.
In statements to the media, the Minister expressed concerns about the sudden rise in protests, particularly given that workers had been contributing positively to the development of the state until now.
"It seems there might be a larger plot at play. Just the day before yesterday, workers were engaged in peaceful contributions to Uttar Pradesh’s growth. What caused this sudden change?" Rajbhar questioned.
He also connected the unrest to recent security incidents, highlighting the arrest of two suspected terrorists in Meerut and Noida, believed to have ties with individuals in Pakistan.
"These occurrences indicate a potential broader conspiracy," he noted.
While addressing the protesting workers in Noida, Minister Rajbhar stated that certain individuals, lacking true concern for labor welfare, are attempting to exploit the unrest.
"Some people are disconnected from the interests of the workers and seek to benefit from crises. Numerous individuals are attempting to mislead and provoke workers. Our agencies are vigilantly observing these elements, and they will remain under scrutiny," he added.
Reaffirming the Uttar Pradesh government's dedication, Minister Rajbhar shared that definitive actions have been undertaken to meet workers' demands.
"A delegation of officials has engaged in discussions with the workers, leading Chief Minister (Yogi Adityanath) to decide on a wage increase of up to 21 percent," the Minister stated.
He also mentioned that the central government is in the process of establishing a national minimum wage policy.
"The Union government will soon determine the minimum wage, and we are prepared to act once it is finalized," Minister Rajbhar said.
He urged for calm, encouraging workers to settle their concerns through dialogue rather than protests.
"We honor the contributions of our worker community. Should there be any grievances, they are welcome to engage in discussions. Unrest and chaos are not the solutions," he remarked.
Minister Rajbhar additionally suggested a potential political motive, accusing leaders of the Samajwadi Party of trying to capitalize on the situation.
"The Samajwadi Party continuously seeks opportunities to mislead the public," he stated.
In light of the protests, security has been heightened across various regions in Noida and Greater Noida.
In the Garhi Chaukhandi area of Sector-121, protesting workers reportedly threw stones at police officers, necessitating the deployment of additional police forces to restore order.
