Lucknow, April 12 (NationPress) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday for enhancing India's position on the global stage, emphasizing the Union government's effective management of LPG supplies even amidst the turmoil in West Asia.
Speaking at a public event in his constituency, Singh remarked, "There has been a significant shift in how other countries view India."
He attributed this transformation to PM Modi's astute leadership, the Union government's swift decision-making for progress, and the commitment of citizens, which have collectively elevated India's global reputation.
"In 2014, India was among the 'fragile five' economies but has now ascended to being one of the top four economies; this achievement is undeniable," Singh stated.
On the topic of the ongoing conflict in West Asia, the Defence Minister observed, "India has maintained a very balanced approach throughout this crisis."
He noted that although many nations are grappling with disruptions in LPG and fuel supplies due to the conflict, India's experience has been relatively unaffected.
"While fuel prices have surged in nearly all countries, they have not seen a similar rise here," he added.
Singh credited PM Modi's adept governance for protecting citizens from the ramifications of the conflict, indicating that uncertainties may persist until peace negotiations are successful.
"India's diplomatic success is evident as our LPG tankers continue to navigate the conflict zones regularly," he mentioned.
Earlier, Rajnath Singh visited the Uttar Pradesh Assembly museum, reminiscing about his tenure as the state's Chief Minister.
"Today, I was fortunate to delve into the rich history of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly and its democratic traditions in an innovative format. The audio-visual museum within the premises has showcased this heritage impressively, which has left a significant impact on me," he posted on social media platform X.
"This experience has been a remarkable journey of recollections for me. I commend the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly for their ongoing efforts to bolster democratic values and enhance public awareness," Defence Minister Singh stated.
"I encourage the citizens of the state to visit this museum at least once. I wish to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Uttar Pradesh government, particularly to Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana ji, for this initiative," he concluded.
