Mumbai, April 8 (NationPress) In a pointed critique of the BJP-led Central government, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut asserted on Wednesday that while Pakistan has reemerged as a significant player on the global stage due to its involvement in the US-Iran ceasefire, India's position internationally has suffered under the current regime.

During a press briefing, Raut voiced his frustration over the fact that both Pakistan and China are garnering accolades for their role in facilitating peace, while India appears to be relegated to a background role.

“By mediating between the US and Iran, Pakistan has once again made its mark on the world map. This is a disgrace for India. Our Prime Minister, who touts himself as a 'Mahavishwaguru,' is merely functioning like a telephone operator, engaging with leaders from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Nepal while others take charge of global diplomacy,” he remarked.

He further emphasized that the recognition for convening discussions between Donald Trump, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Iranian officials should have been India's, but the government's indecisiveness has led to a significant diplomatic setback.

Commenting on the conflict's dynamics, Raut commended Iran for resisting global powers such as the US and Israel, highlighting that Iran stood firm despite facing 35 days of severe conflict.

According to Raut, Iran has successfully dismantled the unfounded fears surrounding the military capabilities of America and Israel. He described Donald Trump as a 'mob-leader' who learned a lesson from Iran's courage and sacrifice.

Raut accused the Prime Minister of being focused on attacking political rivals within India while the world teetered on the brink of destruction.

“The 'Mahavishwaguru' has been busy unleashing 'word bombs' in Kerala, West Bengal, Assam, and Tamil Nadu. He is weaponizing the Election Commission and the Vice President to undermine democracy at home while China and Pakistan are claiming victory for averting a global war,” he stated.

Referring to External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar's earlier remarks branding Pakistan as a 'broker' nation, Raut pointed out the irony of Donald Trump expressing gratitude to that same nation for its diplomatic contributions.

He called for the immediate resignation or removal of Jaishankar, cautioning that the government is dangerously underestimating its rivals. He labeled Jaishankar's role in the Cabinet as a liability that has resulted in national disgrace.

Raut ridiculed the BJP's past rhetoric about raising the Indian flag in Islamabad.

“You spoke of taking control of Islamabad, yet today, Trump and Netanyahu are there to discuss global peace. This is a slap in the face of the Modi government. The respect that Pakistan has garnered today is solely due to Narendra Modi and his administration,” he concluded.
