Telangana CM A. Revanth Reddy Challenges Kerala's Pinarayi Vijayan in Detailed Rebuttal
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Hyderabad, April 6 (NationPress) Telangana's Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has issued a detailed counter to the tweets from his Kerala counterpart, Pinarayi Vijayan.
The Chief Minister of Telangana asserted that the seven tweets made by Vijayan are filled with inaccuracies, selective references, and significant omissions.
In a comprehensive six-page letter directed at the Kerala CM, Revanth Reddy aimed to clarify the situation. He pointed out that Vijayan's data is outdated and reflects a bygone era.
“An initial observation: almost every figure you present is derived from the NITI Aayog SDG Index for 2023-24, which represents the culmination of a tumultuous decade for Telangana, during which our citizens faced unprecedented challenges due to the combined actions of the BJP at the national level and the BRS at the state level. This difficult period concluded in December 2023. You are assessing our recovery using data that predates our administration,” the Congress leader articulated.
“More notably, you stated - and I quote your own tweet - 'By late 2025, Kerala is expected to be the first state in the nation to entirely eliminate extreme poverty.' As we are now in April 2026, are you discussing the past in the future tense? Has this occurred, or is it yet another LDF promise that remains unfulfilled?” he questioned.
Revanth Reddy also informed Vijayan that he would be visiting Thiruvananthapuram on April 7 and expressed his intent to share a platform with him. He invited Vijayan to engage in a debate, indicating his eagerness for a constructive and factually based dialogue.
On April 3, Vijayan released a series of tweets criticizing Revanth Reddy after the Telangana CM made disparaging remarks about the LDF government during an election campaign in Kerala.
“The comments made by Telangana CM Shri Revanth Reddy regarding Kerala are completely unfounded. It is ironic that someone who destroys the homes of the underprivileged in his own state is attempting to lecture Kerala on social advancement. He has merely become a spokesperson for those who wish to undermine our sustainable and inclusive growth model,” Vijayan stated.
The Kerala CM provided data to refute Revanth Reddy's claims concerning corruption, mismanagement, poverty rates, and the alleged connection between Kerala and the Central government.
Alongside his point-by-point counterargument, the Telangana Chief Minister also showcased the accomplishments of the Congress government over the past 28 months, providing a macroeconomic overview and detailing various initiatives aimed at benefiting farmers, women, and youth employment.
Revanth Reddy concluded by asserting that the people of Kerala—who are grappling with brain drain, industrial stagnation, and an increasingly Gulf-reliant welfare model—deserve a government that has new solutions after a decade in power.
“They deserve a government that harmonizes welfare with opportunity. They merit the Congress model,” he emphasized.
