Regional Leaders Express Discontent with Rahul Gandhi's Leadership in the INDIA Coalition: KC Tyagi

New Delhi, Dec 7 (NationPress) An internal discord in the INDIA coalition has surfaced again, as West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has indicated her readiness to assume leadership of the opposition alliance.

In response to Mamata’s statements, senior leader of Janata Dal (United), KC Tyagi, remarked on Saturday that regional leaders are dissatisfied with Rahul Gandhi's leadership and noted an ongoing dispute regarding the leadership within the INDIA coalition.

When asked about the latest tensions in the INDIA bloc concerning Mamata’s comments, he told IANS, “This is the reason why Janata Dal-United and Nitish Kumar exited the alliance. We anticipated that its future would not be viable for collaboration.”

Discussing the situation in Maharashtra where Shiv Sena (UBT) MLAs refrained from taking their oaths during a special Assembly session on Saturday, he stated, “They lack faith in democracy and the Constitution; in contrast, the Samajwadi Party MLAs have demonstrated their commitment by taking an oath.”

Regarding AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal raising law and order concerns in Delhi, Tyagi noted, “Elections are approaching in Delhi within the next two months, which is why all parties are engaged in strategizing for the polls.”

Meanwhile, the Congress party responded to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's intent to lead the INDIA bloc, stressing that leadership choices for the opposition alliance would be determined collectively by all member parties, rather than through public announcements.

Mamata recently expressed her discontent with the operations of the INDIA coalition and stated her willingness to lead the alliance if the opportunity arises.

The Trinamool Congress chief also clarified that while she would not abandon Bengal, she could manage the coalition's activities from there.

Her comments came after Trinamool MP Kirti Azad and several others suggested that the West Bengal Chief Minister should be appointed as the head of the INDIA coalition.
