Chandigarh, Jan 11 (NationPress) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini criticized the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab on Sunday, asserting that both the nation and its states require governance that is experienced, responsible, and focused on public welfare.
“Politics should serve as a platform for service, not merely a means to seize power. Unfortunately, the Punjab government has prioritized the quest for power above all else,” he remarked.
Drawing attention to Punjab's Guru tradition, the Chief Minister urged the populace to reject injustice and the politics of deceit, advocating for the establishment of good governance rooted in development, honesty, and national interest.
CM Saini made these comments during a public gathering in Samrala, located in the Ludhiana district of Punjab.
He asserted that the governance model introduced by Haryana could serve as a benchmark for effective governance nationwide. “In the future, the people of Punjab should guide those who seek votes through falsehoods out of power,” he stated. He guaranteed that “should a government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi come to power in Punjab, all benefits currently available in Haryana will also be extended to Punjab’s residents.”
The Chief Minister pointed out that both the former Congress government and the current Aam Aadmi Party administration have failed to deliver on their promises to the people of Punjab. “Conversely, the double-engine government in Haryana made 217 promises during the Assembly elections and has fulfilled 54 of them in just one year,” he noted. He challenged the AAP government to disclose the compensation provided for livestock losses due to the recent monsoon floods in the state.
He emphasized that the Haryana government has compensated farmers for crop losses, livestock losses, and damage to homes.
In a pointed critique, CM Saini remarked that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann claims his government will compensate farmers at a rate of Rs 20,000 per acre for crop damage, while AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal claims in Gujarat that their government has provided Rs 50,000 per acre to farmers.
“This is a government built on lies that is not serving the interests of the people,” he declared. He highlighted that in Haryana, the state has directly transferred Rs 1,400 crore into farmers’ accounts under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana. Over the past 11 years, Haryana has allocated Rs 15,500 crore as compensation for crop damage.
He urged Punjab CM Mann and Congress leaders to reveal the compensation they provided to farmers during their terms.
