New Delhi, Jan 30 (NationPress) In the wake of the spectacular Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path commemorating the 77th Republic Day on January 26, awards were conferred to the finest tableaux and marching units across various categories in the nation's capital this past Friday. While presenting the accolades, Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth remarked, 'This celebration underscored India’s rich cultural diversity, military discipline, and the vision of a developed nation.'
Seth further expressed that the Republic Day festivities embodied the spirit of the nation.
He observed that the tableaux displayed India's progress and heritage, prominently featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aspiration for a developed India by 2047.
'Republic Day is a significant national celebration. Honoring the tableaux and cultural artists was profoundly moving. Approximately 1.4 billion citizens anticipate witnessing the tableaux every January 26,' he stated.
He also commended the discipline shown by NCC cadets and Bharat Scouts, describing their performance as a robust representation of a 'New India.'
Moreover, he noted that the performances fostered a strong sense of patriotism and a 'nation first' ethos among the audience.
In the Judges’ Choice category for tableaux from States and Union Territories, Maharashtra took the top honor, with Jammu and Kashmir and Kerala following in second and third positions respectively.
Among ministries, the Ministry of Culture received the highest accolade for its tableau. In the Popular Choice segment, Gujarat emerged victorious, with Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan securing second and third places. The Ministry of Education also won top honors among ministries in the Popular Choice category.
In the marching contingents category, Indian Navy was recognized as the best under the Judges’ Choice, while Assam Rifles claimed the Popular Choice award. Among the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Delhi Police won the Judges’ Choice, and CRPF was honored in the Popular Choice category.
Dr. Vikrant Pandey, Secretary (Information) from the Government of Gujarat, attributed Gujarat’s success to the people of the state and the nation. Inspired by the Chief Minister, Gujarat’s tableau, themed around Vande Mataram, illustrated the historic progression of the Indian Tricolor, tracing its journey from 1906 to its official adoption in 1947.
Artist and designer Siddheshwar, along with Aastha Joshi, Surbhi Yadav, and Mittal Kumar, who participated in the Gujarat tableau, expressed their pride in their accomplishment, emphasizing that Gujarat has now won consecutively for four years, making them the first team to achieve this milestone.
