Gandhinagar/New Delhi, Jan 29 (NationPress) Gujarat’s tableau, showcased during the 77th Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path in New Delhi, has triumphantly claimed the top spot in the Popular Choice Award for the fourth straight year.

The tableau, themed ‘Swatantrata Ka Mantra: Vande Mataram’, captivated the audience during the national celebration.

As per official reports, the award was determined through public voting facilitated by the Union Ministry of Defence via the MyGov portal from January 26 to January 27.

Gujarat’s tableau led from the onset of voting to the conclusion, obtaining 43 percent of the overall votes.

Uttar Pradesh followed in second place with nine percent, while the remaining 15 participating states shared the rest of the votes.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel remarked that this achievement reflects the public's recognition of the tableau's portrayal of patriotism and the contributions made by Gujarat's freedom fighters.

“The affection displayed by the citizens towards the Gujarat tableau underscores the strong connection people have with our freedom movement and the ideals that formed our nation,” Patel expressed on social media.

The tableau was crafted by the state's Information Department and illustrated the journey of India's freedom struggle, inspired by Vande Mataram and the Swadeshi movement, while linking it to the self-reliance call promoted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The presentation highlighted the transition from the freedom movement to the contemporary focus on Aatmanirbharta, utilizing visual elements drawn from Gujarat's historical and developmental narrative.

Gujarat's success in the Popular Choice category commenced in 2023 during the 74th Republic Day parade, with its tableau titled ‘Clean, Green, Energy-rich Gujarat’ leading the public vote, showcasing the state's initiatives in renewable energy.

In 2024, Gujarat clinched the Popular Choice Award again with its tableau on ‘Dhordo, World’s Best Tourism Village – UNWTO’, which also achieved second place in the Jury’s Choice category.

In 2025, the state maintained its winning streak with the tableau ‘From Anartpur to Ekta Nagar - a remarkable confluence of heritage and development’, illustrating Gujarat's modern growth alongside its ancient heritage.

With the 2026 tableau being recognized as the public favorite, Gujarat has now achieved four consecutive victories in the Popular Choice Award category.

The award will be officially presented to Gujarat at the Republic Day concluding ceremony scheduled for January 30 at the National Rangshala Camp in New Delhi, with the Union Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, in attendance.
