Residents Celebrate a Milestone as PM Modi Inaugurates Jammu Railway Division

New Delhi, Jan 5 (NationPress) As Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to virtually inaugurate the new Jammu Railway Division on Monday, marking a significant step to enhance connectivity in the region, residents of Jammu are calling it a momentous occasion.
Ankush Sharma, a local resident, shared with IANS, “This is not just a historical moment for Jammu but for the entire nation as Jammu becomes a Railway Division. Additionally, train services to Kashmir are on the horizon. It feels like a long-awaited dream coming true. I believe the BJP-led government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has achieved remarkable progress.”
“The central government has been diligently working for several years to develop Jammu and Kashmir and enhance its infrastructure. This initiative is excellent as it will boost trade, increase tourism, and positively impact every sector following the establishment of the Jammu Railway Division and the commencement of train services,” he stated.
Another local, Vishwamityra Mahajan, remarked, “It is fantastic that Jammu is becoming a Railway Division. This railway project will benefit the region's residents. With the introduction of Vande Bharat, people will be able to travel effortlessly from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. Everything the Modi government is doing for J&K is for the people's welfare.”
Deepak Singh expressed to IANS, “This is a commendable railway project, as the initiation of train services will alleviate traffic congestion… it will also enhance the tourist experience. Commuting will become significantly easier; previously, traveling from Srinagar to Jammu took 6-7 hours, but with the new train service, it will be reduced to 2-3 hours.”
The establishment of the Jammu Railway Division, which spans 742.1 km and includes the Pathankot - Jammu - Udhampur - Srinagar - Baramulla, Bhogpur Sirwal - Pathankot, Batala - Pathankot, and Pathankot to Joginder Nagar sections, is poised to provide considerable advantages to Jammu and Kashmir and its neighboring areas. This fulfills a longstanding aspiration of the populace and enhances connectivity to other regions of India.
This development is expected to generate employment opportunities, foster infrastructure growth, promote tourism, and lead to comprehensive socio-economic advancement in the region.
