New Delhi, Jan 5 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various railway initiatives on Monday (January 6) at 12:30 p.m. through video conferencing.

In a significant effort to enhance connectivity in the area, the Prime Minister will unveil the new Jammu Railway Division. He will also inaugurate the Charlapalli New Terminal Station in Telangana and lay the groundwork for the Rayagada Railway Division Building of East Coast Railway.

The establishment of the Jammu Railway Division, spanning 742.1 km and comprising the sections from Pathankot - Jammu - Udhampur - Srinagar - Baramulla, Bhogpur Sirwal - Pathankot, Batala - Pathankot, and Pathankot to Joginder Nagar, will greatly benefit Jammu and Kashmir and its adjacent regions, fulfilling a long-standing aspiration of the populace and improving connections to other parts of India.

This development will generate employment opportunities, enhance infrastructure, promote tourism, and lead to comprehensive socio-economic progress in the region.

The Charlapalli New Terminal Station in the Medchal-Malkajgiri District of Telangana has been constructed as a new coaching terminal, which includes the provision of a second entry at an estimated cost of around Rs 413 crore. This eco-friendly terminal, equipped with excellent passenger amenities, aims to alleviate congestion at existing coaching terminals in the city, such as Secunderabad, Hyderabad, and Kacheguda.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Rayagada Railway Division Building of East Coast Railway, which is expected to enhance connectivity within Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and surrounding areas, contributing to overall socio-economic development.

On the previous day, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects valued at over Rs 12,200 crore in Delhi. The primary focus of these projects is to improve regional connectivity and facilitate easier travel.

Additionally, the Prime Minister inaugurated a 13-kilometre stretch of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor between Sahibabad and New Ashok Nagar, making a long-held dream of countless residents in the National Capital Region for fast, safe, and non-road connectivity a reality.
