Rohit Pawar Questions Ajit Pawar's Plane Crash, Claims Pressure from Aircraft Owner
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, March 9 (NationPress) NCP-SP lawmaker Rohit Pawar raised serious concerns on Monday regarding the aircraft crash that involved late Ajit Pawar, the former Chief of the NCP and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
He has demanded a thorough investigation to determine whether this was an accidental incident or a calculated attack on the late leader's life.
According to Rohit Pawar, the visibility at the time of the crash was alarmingly low, recorded at just 3,000 meters.
He alleged that the pilot, Captain Kapoor, had contacted the owner of VSR Ventures, V.K. Singh, to inform him that takeoff was unfeasible due to weather conditions. The aircraft carrying Ajit Pawar tragically went down in Baramati on January 28.
"Captain Kapoor clearly communicated to V.K. Singh that visibility was insufficient and that takeoff was impossible. Nevertheless, Singh allegedly insisted, stating, 'You take off, I will manage the rest later,'" Rohit Pawar claimed during a press briefing.
He contended that the Call Detail Records (CDR) of V.K. Singh would substantiate this conversation.
Emphasizing the pilot's mental state, Rohit Pawar pointed out that medical evaluations indicated no presence of drugs, alcohol, or toxins in Captain Kapoor's system.
"If the pilot was in a clear state of mind, why would he take such a perilous risk? We must investigate the pressure he faced. Why is V.K. Singh being protected?" the NCP-SP leader questioned.
Rohit Pawar clarified that his main focus is not on the individuals in the aviation sector or V.K. Singh himself, but rather on ensuring the safety of the late Deputy Chief Minister.
"Was the crash due to technical malfunction or weather conditions, or was it deliberately 'engineered' to crash?" he inquired.
He reiterated his belief that V.K. Singh and his company are under the protection of higher authorities.
Rohit Pawar suggested that if V.K. Singh were arrested, there would be fears among certain factions that he might disclose the identities of influential individuals involved.
Former Maharashtra Minister and NCP legislator Anil Patil criticized Rohit Pawar and demanded an investigation into Ajit Pawar's plane crash.
Patil remarked on Rohit Pawar's recent trip to Delhi, suggesting he is merely engaging in political maneuvering against NCP leaders Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare.
He stated that instead of playing politics, Rohit Pawar should present substantial evidence in the appropriate forums, or he risks becoming the 'Pappu of Maharashtra.'
Patil noted that the NCP has sought a meeting with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis concerning Ajit Pawar's aircraft accident.
He emphasized that the NCP aims to voice their concerns and formally request an investigation into the situation.
State NCP President and MLA Shashikant Shinde expressed his worries in the State Legislative Council, stating: "We have been asking for a discussion regarding Ajit Pawar's aircraft incident under Rule 97 for the past four days. Yet, approval for the discussion remains pending. Who is putting pressure on the authorities?"
