New Delhi, March 21 (NationPress) The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has reached a significant milestone by incorporating over 10,000 new 'shakhas' within the last year, showcasing a remarkable increase in its social initiatives through programs like 'Milan, Mandali' and others throughout the country, as indicated by an official report.

The official document, spanning over 76 pages, highlights that the total number of RSS shakhas has escalated from 73,117 in March 2024 to 83,129 in March 2025.

The organization has set a target to exceed the one-lakh mark in shakha numbers and recruit an additional 2,500 'pracharaks' by 2025, coinciding with its centennial celebrations.

Notable growth in the number of RSS shakhas has been observed in regions such as Karnataka's Bidar district, Gujarat's Saurashtra region, Rajasthan's Jaipur, and more.

States demonstrating significant increases in RSS shakha activities over the past year include Haryana, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Uttarakhand.

In Bidar, the count of shakhas at 129 locations was 155 in November 2024, and through the efforts of RSS karyakartas and volunteers engaging in social initiatives like Khel Utsav and online meetings, this number has now risen to 180.

In Gujarat's Gir Somnath district, active mobilization by karyakartas increased the shakha count from 36 to 54.

In Malva district, Madhya Pradesh, over 9,000 'vistaraks' reached out to 9,859 villages out of 12,170. More than 4,800 vistaraks stayed for a week, while over 5,000 stayed for four days, leading to the establishment of 1,116 shakhas in over 3,300 villages.

In Jaipur, the operational shakhas in Ratangarh district increased from 33 in July 2024 to 68 now.

A special initiative in Western Odisha districts facilitated shakha expansion, increasing the number of shakha locations from 572 to 983, with total shakhas growing from 605 to 1,031.

On a related note, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat recently inaugurated a three-day meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS), which is the highest decision-making body within the organization. This important meeting, held in preparation for the centenary celebrations, is expected to outline comprehensive plans and strategies to enhance its outreach.

The RSS is set to celebrate its 100th anniversary on Vijaydashami this year, with centennial festivities scheduled to commence in October 2025 and continue until the next Vijaydashami.
