Kolkata, Feb 16 (NationPress) The Chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Mohan Bhagwat, articulated on Sunday that the primary goal of the Sangh is to establish an organization representing a unified Hindu society.

While addressing an audience in Burdwan, located in the West Burdwan district of West Bengal, Bhagwat elaborated on the significance of Hindu societal unity.

"The society that bears the responsibility for our nation is the Hindu society. India is not merely a matter of geography, subject to alterations in size over time. It possesses its own essence. Those who felt they could not coexist with that essence chose to form their own nations. Conversely, those who remained attached to their homeland cherished the essence of India," Bhagwat remarked.

He further noted that Hindus have embraced diversity throughout history.

"Hindus progress by welcoming the diversity of the world," he stated.

During the event, the RSS Chief emphasized that Hindus acknowledge and appreciate the principle of "unity in diversity", as they consider diversity to be the beauty within unity.

"One must live as an individual, but not solely as an individual. An individual exists for the family, the family for society, and society for the nation. Each person possesses their own identity. However, that individuality should also contribute to the advancement of others. Those who have succeeded should assist others in achieving progress. This showcases the greatness of thought," Bhagwat explained.

The RSS Chief also pointed out that while many affluent individuals exist in the nation, discussions often revolve around those who have not amassed wealth.

"People seldom speak of the wealthy. Instead, they honor individuals like Swami Vivekananda, who lived their lives without accumulating riches," Bhagwat remarked.

Initially, the RSS gathering in Burdwan encountered challenges as police denied permission. Nevertheless, the meeting proceeded following the approval from a single-judge bench led by Justice Amrita Sinha earlier in the week.
