Key Takeaways
Kolkata, Dec 21 (NationPress) The chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Mohan Bhagwat, emphasized on Sunday that there are prevalent misunderstandings about the organization among certain groups.
Speaking at the Science City auditorium in Kolkata during the centennial celebrations of the RSS, Bhagwat made it clear that the Sangh does not have any adversaries.
He advocated for enhanced Hindu unity and cautioned that merging the BJP with the RSS is a significant error, stating that the sole aim of the Sangh is the solidarity and unity of the Hindu community.
Bhagwat remarked, “The Sangh is frequently mischaracterized. Many individuals are familiar with the name but fail to grasp the organization's mission. The RSS is solely focused on the advancement of Hindu society and does not function out of hostility. Although the growth of the Sangh may be detrimental to some interests, it has no enemies.”
The Sarsanghchalak asserted that politics is unnecessarily intertwined with the Sangh. He noted, “Indeed, numerous BJP leaders are associated with the RSS. However, it is incorrect to equate the RSS with the BJP. The RSS operates without a conflict-driven mindset and is dedicated to the welfare of Hindu society.”
He added that the shops of narrow interests will close if the organization flourishes. “To reveal the truth to people, we have organized lectures and interaction sessions across four cities in the country. The RSS does not possess any political agenda; it is focused on the enhancement and protection of Hindu society,” Bhagwat stated.
The RSS chief expressed confidence that the nation will once again become ‘Vishwaguru’, emphasizing that it is the Sangh's responsibility to prepare society for this purpose.
In a message aimed at fostering unity within the Hindu community, Bhagwat highlighted the importance of reconnecting with forgotten roots.
He referenced notable Bengali figures such as Swami Vivekananda, Raja Ram Mohan Roy, and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Bhagwat lauded Raja Ram Mohan Roy, resonating with sentiments expressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, stating, “Ram Mohan Roy dedicated his life to social reform. The journey of social reform started in his era, and the RSS aims to perpetuate that legacy,” he concluded.
