Lucknow, Jan 6 (NationPress) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated on Tuesday that the Viksit Bharat - Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission – Gramin (VB-G RAM G) Act is set to become a pivotal milestone towards realizing Viksit Bharat 2047. He condemned the Congress and its allies for their opposition to the new rural employment legislation.
While addressing journalists, CM Adityanath emphasized that the VB-G RAM G law will enhance rural infrastructure and development across states, serving as a foundation for a developed Bharat.
He remarked, "Empowering the rural economy, farmers, and laborers is essential to attain the vision of Viksit Bharat 2025," expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this transformative law.
CM Adityanath asserted, "The Congress and its allies are posing various questions about this significant legislation. It is surprising that, in the interest of the nation, workers, farmers, and rural development, this vital step should receive complete endorsement and recognition. The legislation signifies the government’s dedication, and the public should commend the Prime Minister and the NDA for this initiative..."
He highlighted that previous rural employment schemes were hindered by issues like fake job cards, inadequate social audits, and administrative inefficiencies.
He noted that the necessity for this media briefing arose from the reluctance of those who governed the country for extended periods, misappropriated resources, and forced the impoverished to suffer, now opposing the VB-G RAM G law for fear of being "exposed" if they acknowledge such a groundbreaking reform.
He stated, "The public will question them on why they failed to implement such reforms when they were in power," asserting that the opposition coalition is sticking to its outdated, "corruption-riddled" strategies instead of appreciating PM Modi for this revolutionary change.
CM Adityanath criticized the Congress-era rural job initiative as a complete "failure," lacking a sustainable framework for creating lasting assets.
"Thus, under the new amendment, the employment guarantee has risen from 100 days to 125 days. Wages will now be disbursed weekly; workers will no longer endure delays of months or years. If a laborer works in a week, they will receive payment weekly, and any delays will be compensated," he explained.
Describing the new law as a boon for the state, Chief Minister Adityanath mentioned, "Uttar Pradesh has over 57,600 gram panchayats, and regarding revenue villages, the state contains more than 1,05,000 revenue villages. Currently, around 60 to 70 percent of Uttar Pradesh's populace resides in rural areas. Uttar Pradesh is also recognized as India’s food basket, hence farmers and workers are vital for sustaining the nation."
