New Delhi, Dec 5 (NationPress) Russian President Vladimir Putin wrapped up his two-day state visit to India on Friday, with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar present at the airport to bid him farewell. The Russian Embassy in New Delhi announced the departure via a post on X, highlighting that President Putin expressed his appreciation for the “warm welcome” received from India.

In a message shared on X, the Russian Embassy stated: #Russia’s President Vladimir Putin’s two-day state visit to #India has concluded. EAM @DrSJaishankar was on hand to see the Russian leader off from #NewDelhi. The President expressed his gratitude to the Indian side for the warm welcome during the visit.

The visit, which was packed with activities over two days in the national capital, included high-level talks, ceremonial functions, and numerous bilateral discussions focused on defence, economic collaboration, energy partnerships, and regional security. Although the Russian Embassy's announcement primarily noted the conclusion of the visit, it marked one of the most significant interactions between the two nations this year.

During the visit, President Putin engaged in formal discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where both leaders assessed the status of the India-Russia partnership, celebrating 25 years since its establishment as a Strategic Partnership.

This dialogue was followed by the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit, during which both parties released a Joint Statement that outlined the priorities for the forthcoming years, emphasizing cooperation in energy, nuclear power, trade, defence, and technology.

Additionally, President Putin was hosted by Indian President Droupadi Murmu at a banquet at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday evening.

In her speech, the President characterized the India-Russia relationship as “steadfast for many years” and expressed confidence that it would continue to strengthen in the future.

She underscored the historical connections, cultural ties, and the extensive scope of bilateral engagement spanning political, economic, scientific, educational, and people-to-people interactions.

President Putin's itinerary also included meetings with senior Indian officials, strategic discussions on global affairs, and evaluations of ongoing bilateral projects. This visit occurred at a time when both nations are keen on enhancing economic connections, optimizing energy cooperation, and exploring new avenues for technological and industrial collaboration.
