Bengaluru, Sep 24 (NationPress) Renowned Kannada author and Padma Bhushan laureate S. L. Bhyrappa has sadly passed away at a hospital in Bengaluru. The 94-year-old Bhyrappa had been receiving treatment at Rashtrotthana Hospital in RR Nagar due to age-related health issues. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sorrow over the loss, stating that the nation has lost a towering stalwart.
In his tribute, Prime Minister Modi remarked, "With the departure of Shri S.L. Bhyrappa Ji, we are mourning a monumental figure who awakened our conscience and explored the depths of Indian culture. A bold and timeless thinker, he significantly enriched Kannada literature with his thought-provoking writings. Bhyrappa succumbed to a cardiac arrest today, reaching the lotus feet of the divine."
Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel, H.D. Kumaraswamy, expressed his shock at the news, saying, "The passing of distinguished novelist and Padma Bhushan recipient S. L.
