New Delhi, April 20 (NationPress) Spiritual leader and founder of the Isha Foundation, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, has vehemently denounced the murder of a significant Hindu leader in Bangladesh, describing it as a “stain on the subcontinent and on humanity”.
The incident, which has sparked widespread outrage, took place in Dinjapur’s Biral Upazila, where Bhabesh Chandra, a senior member of the Hindu community, was kidnapped and cruelly beaten to death.
On the social media platform X, Sadhguru stated, “This brutal persecution of the minority community in Bangladesh must cease. This is a stain on the subcontinent & on Humanity. Unacceptable.”
Reports from Bangladeshi media and local police confirmations indicate that Bhabesh Chandra, who held the position of Vice-President of the Biral unit of the Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad, was forcibly taken from his residence by four unidentified individuals on Thursday.
The attackers, reportedly on two motorcycles, abducted him in front of bystanders and transported him to Narabari village.
His spouse, Shantana Roy, informed The Daily Star, a leading Bangladeshi newspaper, that the assailants later returned him to their home in an unconscious condition in a van.
He was quickly taken to Biral Upazila Health Complex and later moved to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.
