Kolkata/Agartala, March 9 (NationPress) Tripura's Chief Minister and prominent BJP figure, Manik Saha, on Monday called on the citizens of West Bengal to oust the Trinamool Congress (TMC) from governance, claiming that the state has suffered from “terror, corruption, and a breakdown of law and order” over the party's 15-year rule.

Speaking at a large 'Paribartan Yatra' rally in Bardhaman district, Saha emphasized that the people of West Bengal must empower the BJP to restore democracy, tranquility, and development in the region. “We must pledge from this Paribartan Yatra that the TMC government will be dismissed. The residents of Bengal must end this misrule that has perpetuated terror for the past 15 years,” he stated.

Saha referred to Bardhaman as a “land of revolution and devotion” and accused the local populace of facing challenges even while attempting to hold religious gatherings. He pointed to violent incidents across the state, alleging that permission is often needed to celebrate events like Saraswati Puja.

He further accused the TMC of creating obstacles during the immersion of Kali Puja idols in places like Uluberia, Tehatta, and Rajabazar in Kolkata, alongside attacks on Ram Navami rallies. “From here, we must vow that we will not tolerate injustice,” asserted the Tripura Chief Minister.

Saha expressed that BJP leaders and members nationwide unite and support each other during tough times, which is why he traveled from Tripura to join the rally in West Bengal. He claimed that the political environment and democratic integrity in the state have declined under TMC leadership, labeling West Bengal as a “hub of corruption.”

Contrasting with the former Left Front regime in Tripura, Saha mentioned that corruption and irregularities in hiring have also been prevalent in West Bengal. “The TMC preaches about ‘Maa, Maati, Manush’, yet they have failed to ensure the safety and dignity of women, despite having a female Chief Minister,” he alleged.

Saha also accused the TMC of exploiting illegal Bangladeshi immigrants as a voting bloc and claimed that the West Bengal government has not collaborated with the Centre on securing sections of the international border with Bangladesh. “While we share a border with Bangladesh, we have implemented stringent border security in Tripura,” he noted.

Highlighting advancements in Tripura, the Chief Minister stated that his government effectively implements all central schemes and has significantly enhanced the law and order situation.

“People are now eager to invest in Tripura due to the improved law and order. If we could eliminate the CPI (M) government in Tripura, then the people of Bengal can certainly instigate change,” he asserted.

Saha pointed out that corruption, crime, and scams have proliferated in West Bengal and urged the citizens to make the “right decision” to establish a BJP government in the state.
