Jaipur, Oct 2 (NationPress) During the Vijayadashami celebrations at the Hedgewar Basti in Harmada Nagar, Rajasthan, Sah-Sarkaryavah Arun Kumar of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) presented the keynote speech.
In his address, Arun Kumar characterized Vijayadashami not just as a festival but as a representation of faith, belief, and righteousness—a reminder that truth and justice ultimately triumph over injustice.
He highlighted that the profound strength of Indian culture lies in its continuity and timeless essence, pointing out that while numerous civilizations have faded from history, Indian culture has persistently overcome challenges.
This day holds special significance as it coincides with the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. Gandhi linked the freedom struggle with the values of swarajya, swadharma, and swadeshi, envisioning Ramrajya and self-governance in villages, whereas Shastri’s life exemplified simplicity, integrity, and courageous leadership.
Reflecting on the Sangh’s centenary year, Arun Kumar stated this is a moment for not only celebration but also for deep reflection, self-assessment, and commitment.
He urged volunteers and citizens to contemplate the Sangh’s century-long journey and the responsibilities that lie ahead.
Arun Kumar stressed that the Sangh’s mission is not self-serving but focuses on the empowerment and honor of the nation.
He elaborated that the Sangh’s approach is anchored in the preservation of religion, culture, and society, emphasizing the need for a cultured, organized, and self-assured community.
Recalling Hedgewar’s vision, he expressed that it transcended mere independence to instigate essential social change, asserting that a robust community is the bedrock of a robust nation.
Looking ahead, Arun Kumar addressed the challenges confronting the nation and spotlighted the Sangh's focus areas: family unity, social harmony, environmental stewardship, swadeshi practices, and civic duties.
He appealed to society to adopt these values, indicating that even if individuals cannot engage in daily Sangh activities, embracing these principles in their lives would be a meaningful way to commemorate the Sangh’s centenary.
By following these tenets, he asserted, the nation could eradicate inequality and progress towards genuine advancement.
On this occasion, 90 volunteers showcased various physical demonstrations, including group exercises, yoga, and stick-fighting.
A total of 350 uniformed volunteers, comprising 250 women and 200 community members, were present.
Jaipur Sanghchalak Chain Singh Rajpurohit and Harmada Sanghchalak Mahavir Saini also graced the event.
Senior physician Dr. Ashok Jhajharia (SMS) was in attendance as the chief guest.
