Chandigarh/Gandhinagar, March 10 (NationPress) On Tuesday, Gujarat's Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi engaged in talks with prominent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders during his visit to Rohtak, Haryana, concentrating on the organizational strategies required for the forthcoming Rajya Sabha elections.
In a post shared on X, Sanghavi mentioned that he interacted with various party officials at the BJP's state office in Rohtak.
The meeting was graced by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, state BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli, and senior party figure and Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, along with other ministers and party representatives.
Sanghavi noted that the discussions focused on organizational aspects pertinent to the impending Rajya Sabha elections.
"The gathering evaluated the internal coordination within the party and the preparations necessary for the electoral process. It also facilitated an exchange of views regarding strategies and responsibilities tied to the elections," stated party officials.
This visit follows Sanghavi's recent designation as a central observer for the BJP concerning the Rajya Sabha elections in Haryana.
Alongside Sanghavi's role, the BJP has appointed observers for other states set to hold Rajya Sabha elections.
Vijay Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, and Union Minister Harsh Malhotra have been chosen as observers for Bihar. In Odisha, Chandrashekhar Bawankule, a minister in the Maharashtra government, has also been entrusted with similar responsibilities.
The appointed observers will oversee coordination and organizational efforts associated with the electoral process within their respective states.
The Election Commission has scheduled the biennial elections for the Rajya Sabha on March 16, with voting taking place in various states where terms of existing members are set to conclude in April.
These elections will appoint new representatives to the Upper House from states including Bihar, Haryana, Odisha, Assam, among others, with state assembly legislators participating in the electoral process.
The BJP's appointment of observers is part of its organizational strategy ahead of the elections, which will fill multiple vacancies in the Rajya Sabha as current members' terms end next month.
