Kolkata, April 11 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that West Bengal's Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, remained indifferent while women across the state endured torture and humiliation from goons associated with the ruling Trinamool Congress. He remarked, “The entire nation felt ashamed by the horrific rape and murder of a junior doctor from R.G. Kar Medical College & Hospital. In Sandeshkhali, Trinamool Congress thugs exploited and demeaned women. Infiltrators have become a significant threat to the safety of women in West Bengal, yet Mamata Banerjee chose to remain oblivious to these incidents.”
During a campaign rally in Onda, Bankura district, as the two-phase Assembly elections approach, Shah emphasized that “Those who have been complicit in such acts, having enjoyed the Chief Minister's protection, will face justice.” He also added that those responsible for the murders of BJP workers during the 15-year rule of Trinamool Congress will not escape accountability.
“Over 300 BJP workers lost their lives due to electoral violence. The goons of Trinamool Congress believe they can evade punishment. I assure you that anyone who has harmed BJP workers will be held responsible once our government takes charge,” he warned.
Shah cautioned Trinamool Congress's anti-social elements to “stay indoors on the polling days of April 23 and April 29.” He asserted that the people of West Bengal would cast their votes without fear this time, and measures would be implemented to ensure Mamata Banerjee’s henchmen do not obstruct the electoral process.
