Key Takeaways
Kolkata, April 13 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah delivered a fierce critique of the Trinamool Congress on Monday, asserting that their leaders are involved in every corruption scandal in West Bengal. “From cash-for-query schemes to cash-for-jobs, cattle and coal smuggling, PDS fraud to unlawful land acquisition — in any area of corruption, you will encounter the traces of Trinamool Congress officials. The public is disillusioned with their misgovernance and is resolved to initiate a transformation in the system through the upcoming Assembly elections,” stated the Union Home Minister during a campaign rally in Bolpur, Birbhum district.
During his speech, he reiterated that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secures victory in West Bengal, the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will be implemented without fail. “We will dismantle the current regime, where some individuals maintain multiple matrimonial relationships simultaneously,” he emphasized.
He also criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, expressing that it is shameful that, as a female chief minister, she fails to guarantee the safety of women and instead advises them against being outdoors at night.
“However, if we assume power in West Bengal, we will ensure that women can ride their scooters even at 1 a.m. There will be no incidents like the R.G. Kar rape murder or assaults at Kasba Law College and Durgapur Medical College. Women will be protected in West Bengal under our administration,” the Union Home Minister assured.
Additionally, he warned that if Trinamool Congress anti-social elements attempt to disrupt the electoral process on April 23 and 29, they will face stringent consequences. “I advise them to remain indoors on voting days. Otherwise, starting May 5, we will hunt them down and imprison them,” he declared.
He noted that the enthusiasm shown by the populace at the Birbhum Bolpur rally indicates that the Trinamool Congress is facing imminent defeat.
