New Delhi, July 6 (NationPress) Senior BJP figure and former Union Minister Shahnawaz Hussain criticized Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday, accusing them of undermining Bihar for their political benefit.
In response to Rahul Gandhi's tweet labeling Bihar as a “crime capital” after the murder of businessman Gopal Khemka, Hussain remarked that such statements are regrettable and intended to damage the state's reputation.
Speaking to IANS in New Delhi, Hussain stated, “By branding Bihar as the crime capital, he disrespects the residents of the state. While the murder of Gopal Khemka is tragic and an investigation is in progress, such events do not warrant a negative portrayal of the entire state. Bihar has a rule of law, and those responsible will face justice.”
He also defended the government led by Nitish Kumar, asserting that law and order in the state is managed effectively and any criminal activities are promptly addressed. “There is effective governance in Bihar. Anyone who violates the law will be held accountable. Yet, Tejashwi Yadav and Rahul Gandhi persistently attempt to create a misleading narrative about Bihar,” he emphasized.
Commenting on India’s recognition as the world’s second-largest democracy in a recent global study, Hussain expressed pride in this achievement. “This is a significant milestone. The international community acknowledges the strength of India’s democracy, and under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our democratic institutions have become even more resilient,” he remarked.
He also took a jab at Rahul Gandhi’s previous comments regarding India on foreign platforms, saying, “Even in his role as Leader of Opposition, he continues to make remarks that damage India’s global standing. It is his duty to function as a constructive opposition leader, rather than one who consistently seeks to defame the nation.”
